Ever since I was little, my dream was to travel the world and explore foreign places. I was born and raised in a small town in Germany, but I have previously lived in the US and Tanzania as well. Due to my Chinese upbringing, I have been exposed to two very opposing cultures from a young age. After finishing high school, I had the wish to move abroad again, which is why I am currently living and studying in the Netherlands.
I believe that traveling and getting out of your comfort zone is crucial in order to gain a better understanding of other cultures and the world in general. Besides, it is one of the best ways to spend your money as you will make memories and experience things that you can cherish for a lifetime.
The ‘travel like a local’ concept appeals to me a lot as it allows you to dig deeper within a culture and learn even more about the local people and their lifestyles.
