The Fudge House is an Edinburgh institution. A family-run business, the shop first opened in 1949 and has been a staple on the Royal Mile ever since. Located near the Scottish Parliament and Holyrood Palace, this is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth and a great place to stop by for a pick-me-up while you explore the city. Located in one of the many historical buildings on the street, the interior harks back to the shop’s beginnings, with vintage-style shop fittings.

All the fudge is made on-site with high quality, local ingredients. You can see it being made right in front of your eyes in the kitchen at the back of the shop.

They offer an incredible variety of flavours — from classics like the traditional buttery Scottish Tablet to Chocolate Orange and Mocha Coffee Cream. The quality is top-notch and the gooey, melt-in-the-mouth texture makes it impossible to walk out empty-handed. My only complaint is that everything looks so delicious it can be hard to choose what to get. Luckily, there are always samples available to help you decide!

I always come here to buy gifts for birthdays and Christmas or just for a wee treat for myself!
