Peperone is located in a not very touristy Krakow neighborhood. I found out that a new restaurant was opening here because I live quite close by and I often take my dog for a walk around this area.
The interior is urban and contemporary; I like the walls of plants that make the tables a bit more private and the colorful chairs. My favourite part of the decor is the large olive tree – it gives away that the menu is based on Italian cuisine.
The open kitchen area allowed me to take a peek at the large copper oven in which the traditional pizza is baked. Their pizza is prepared according to the original recipe using ingredients of the highest quality, which allows for an artisan result. However, I usually order pasta; in particular, the pasta with shrimps is my dish of choice.
If you are ever in the neighborhood, make sure to also have a walk around Bronowice, a very old village that became part of Krakow in the early ’40s.
