They say “it’s always the quiet ones you have to watch.” With a modest social media presence and a reputation built on hard work and word-of-mouth, ManCoCo has swooped in to take the title of Manchester’s best coffee.
After seven years in business and over 500 reviews, ManCoCo maintains an impressive 4.9-star Google rating. Yet, despite this, it remains criminally under-referenced by Manchester’s media. Rarely appearing on listicles, ManCoCo seems destined to be a cult classic. All the better for those of us who love a hidden gem.
ManCoCo started life as a small batch-blend roastery. Its owners carefully sourced and roasted beans before selling them at farmers’ markets. Fast forward to 2022 and the business has evolved to include a café space. Keeping Manchester’s enlightened commuters and adventurers caffeinated, it offers excellent brews from a cozy railway arch a stone’s-throw from Deansgate station.
Track down ManCoCo and you’ll be rewarded with an ethically sourced, expertly prepared, flavourful coffee roasted and freshly ground in-house.
Grab a bag of ManCoCo beans for a truly Mancunian souvenir. Stock includes beans from Colombia, India, Ethiopia and Costa Rica, but you can’t go wrong with the signature ManCoCo Manchester blend to remind you of your visit.
