This bar is named after one of Joseph Brodsky’s short novels and encourages your imagination to be carried away to Saint Petersburg at the time he was walking around in this neighborhood.

The place has literally one and a half rooms: a big narrow room with a bar counter where you can watch the cocktail magic happen or talk to bartenders, and a cosy room with tables.

There are four artists greeting you from their portraits. My friends and I like to play a game: whenever someone new comes to the bar with us, they have to name all four figures. The first three come right away but there is always some trouble with the guy in the black suit. The winner drinks for free.

I don’t like saying that some place offers the best of something in a city, but these cocktails can blow you away. Whatever your imagination can come up with will be on your table within 15 minutes. The cocktail menu updates every week. Here you have a chance  to try the winner of “the best Bloody Mary in Russia” contest. Every cocktail comes with a companion, a small snack emphasizing the identity of the drink.

Don’t’ forget to order something from their food menu. The owners have put some effort into making their place all-in-one, and they have succeeded.

Enjoy cocktails with locals and may Brodsky be with you.
