There is one place in Almaty that feels truly special to me — the showroom of the incredibly talented Kazakhstani artist, Indira Badambayeva. I first met Indira about ten years ago and have followed her journey ever since. Over the years, I’ve attended many of her exhibitions, both in small, intimate galleries and major venues across the city. Her unique style has always stood out to me — expressive, elegant, and deeply personal.
Now, Indira has opened her very own showroom, and it’s unlike any other. It’s not just about viewing art — it’s about living with it. Her scarves, notebooks, and shopper bags are all based on her original paintings. Every item carries her artistic signature, turning everyday objects into something soulful and inspiring.
She’s also a dedicated art teacher, and I’ve even attended a beautiful event celebrating her students. This showroom feels like a natural next step — a space that blends her roles as both artist and businesswoman.
I highly recommend visiting her showroom. It’s a wonderful way to experience her art in a new, accessible form — and perhaps take a piece of it home with you.
