You know how all the parks are just packed in the summer? If you don't claim your perfect spot early on, you know there will be a lot of people hanging around and you'll have to try to fit your towel among some groups of friends. For this problem, I do have a solution! You should check out the Marine terrain. This is a green and spacey place behind the Scheepsvaartmuseum. You can walk over the pier or sit on it with some friends.
When the weather is great you can also swim here. In the summer it is one big party over here. People are swimming, there is music and often there is a cart where you can buy drinks. If they are not present you can walk towards one of the bars/restaurants that are close to the pier. For example, you can go to Homeland about which I wrote another article.
