My friend Wassim called me the other night and invited me to the salsa night at Nova in Beirut. At first I thought I was going to watch him and his wife dance for us. But when Friday came, I was dazzled by what I saw.

The place was packed with salsa dancers, everyone was dancing, syncing, changing partners and dancing even more. It felt like the place was saying “welcome to Cuba” or as if you were watching the movie “Dirty Dancing”. The vibes were amazing, even though I don’t know how to salsa, but I was dancing all night, even trying to pick up some moves from people around me. Then someone went to the stage and made some moves, while everyone else was down following the same steps. And then another and another.

Ever since that night, I decided to get myself into learning that beautiful dance full of emotions and freedom.
