Going on for more than 20 years, Brodić is a place to be when it comes to riverside Belgrade. It started out as a hidden gem, tucked away in the area where there were actually no other 'splavs', on river Sava, right behind the Belgrade Fair edifices. Not such a visited path at the time.
It's a small ship indeed (its name literally meaning that, transcribed roughly as bro-deetch), that through the years added other elements and platforms, in order to be able to host more people. What began as, and still is, a thing of the locals from that very neighborhood started attracting people from all around the city. And, in the end, from all around the globe.
Brodić is the epitome of a tranquil, almost low-profile place to chill, surrounded by nice people, have a sip of beer with friends while gazing at the river at any time of the day. Makes for a perfect stop on a bike ride along the rivers, and actually, on any occasion. The bike is probably the best means of transport to reach it, as it's on the bike path going all the way from Pančevo bridge to Ada Ciganlija. If you feel hungry, they offer a nice choice of their signature pizzas, as well as other snacks. Its summer 'edition' features an extra 'isle' made of styrofoam, acting as a 'garden' for guests.
Belgrade's riverside is almost 50 kilometers long and mostly filled with 'splavs', however Brodić is a standout. A classic.
