Lalibela is one of my favorite restaurants in Berlin, not just for the amazing food, but also for the cute and cozy vibes. The inside of the eatery is filled with warm colors and traditional decor and is additionally lit by candles, making it a pleasant and vibrant spot, especially in the colder months. In the warmer months, you can sit outside and take in Berlin’s summer sun in a lively area of Neukölln.
This is a great place to come with a group of friends and share a large platter together. You really can’t go wrong, but I would say to go for a plate with a vibrant mix of items in order to try as much as possible. My favorite might just be their #17 plate which comes with stewed vegetables, fresh salad, butter-simmered chicken, chickpeas, lean beef, and collared greens.
The flavor combinations are expertly crafted, and everything comes together with a serving of slightly sour and very tasty Injera bread. Give them a visit! Their original location is in Neukölln, but after some initial struggles during the pandemic, they’re now thriving and have recently opened up two more locations in Berlin’s Wedding and Kreuzberg.
