I’ll admit, despite being a vegetarian and having heard dozens of rave reviews of Grasshopper from carnivores and vegans alike, I was skeptical of their menu at first. Being typically used to seitan and tofu, dishes featuring meat substitutes like “No Name” and “Vegi-Shrimp” weren’t a huge draw for me. From the picture above, you can see I was quickly proven wrong, as my companions and I all started digging into every delicious plate before I remembered to take a photo (oops). Seriously, after our first visit even my most diehard carnivorous friends were singing Grasshopper's praises and planning our speedy return.
Grasshopper has quick service, so within minutes of ordering you’re going to have huge, steaming portions of vegan goodness in front of you, best eaten piping hot on freezing spring days. Seriously, people, I cannot get enough of their veggie “chicken nuggets” – battered and deep fried slices of tofu that will disappear as soon as they hit the table. Pro tip: order a side of peanut sauce to go with those and prepare to experience veggie heaven.
