The renovation of the former National Radio Broadcasting Institute into the leading culture house “Flagey” has certainly contributed to making Brussels one of the most culturally dynamic cities in Europe.

Flagey organises jazz, contemporary and classical music concerts, film screenings and other cultural events. I really enjoy listening to concerts there because of the diversity of its programme and the exceptional acoustic of its concert halls. Every year, Flagey also hosts the internationally renowned Queen Elisabeth Festival, a true springboard for young talented musicians.

Spending an evening at Flagey is always a great experience! The building itself is a stunning example of art-deco steamboat architecture and at night, while you are waiting for the show to start, you can admire its lights reflecting on the Ixelles ponds, a very romantic setting!

Flagey has become an unmissable venue for annual music festivals such as the Flagey Piano Days and the Brussels Jazz Festival performing prominent artists from all over the world.

This culture house also organizes cultural events such as interviews with writers and artists. I was lucky to attend several of them on the occasion of the Passaporta Literature Festival and Brussels Design September, which take place every year.
