Nona is my go-to place in the city for proper Italian food. Nona uses only organic Belgian ingredients because it’s just better that way! They work with organic, family-run farms to fill their kitchen with all the best and freshest produce the season had to offer. Ever tasted a fresh, sun-riped tomato against one that’s been synthetically forced into a greenhouse? The difference is pretty unbelievable! That’s why you’ll only find seasonal ingredients from local farms on Nona’s menu.
Nona’s philosophy is to ‘do good’. They want to serve good, proper, Italian food made with local ingredients and this way support local farmers. That’s also how Nona got its name. Nona = No Name. Because their philosophy, their way of working and their suppliers are more important than their name.
At Nona Pasta you can of course find many kinds of pasta, based on the season they change the recipes. My personal favourite is Amatriciana, but it’s also always nice to ask the waiter what the special of the week is if you want to try something different! More in the mood for pizza? A little further down the street, you will walk right into Nona Pizza, the same philosophy and fresh ingredients, but here you can try a pizza instead of pasta!
