Where should you go when looking for a nice walk in Chisinau, biking or jogging, meeting nice people or taking some pictures for your Instagram account? To Valea Morilor, of course, which means The valley of mills! This place is commonly known among locals as Komsomolsky Lake, because of the young members of the Komsomol who dug the lake manually back in 1950.
In the Valley of Mills you can dive into a fragrant alley of old pines, then drink some fresh cool water at “Tamara’s spring”, then walk around the lake and climb to the freshly rebuilt Rotonda for an amazing view over the surrounding area. If you are lucky, you may catch a live concert at the Green Theater, located in the park.
You can also rent a bike or boat, rest on the beach or catch some street artists performing live.
On the weekends, it becomes very crowded, but it’s a good chance to meet the people of Chisinau.
For nice pictures, I would suggest an evening walk, before the sunset.
