To be honest, the first time I heard about Sushi Green I was skeptical. Sushi without fish? I expected the vegetarian sushi you usually get in sushi restaurants: cucumber and avocado rolled in rice with a taste of nothing.
But I gave it a try and I was surprised. It was delicious. The menu is gigantic. They created more than 50 different rolls with ingredients I had never heard of. Instead of fish, they use sweet potato, beet root, tofu, vegan cream cheese and much more. The most interesting for me was the authentic taste of their vegan bacon. As I am not a big fan of meat, I had already tried lots of meat alternatives, but that was definitely the best one I've ever had!
'Sweet Geisha in Love' for example is made with sweet potato, vegan cream cheese, cucumber, strawberry caviar, fig mustard, black sesame and agave syrup.
Every roll is a little surprise and the rolls don't just taste amazing, they also look more tempting than 'normal sushi'. They're colourful, elaborately decorated and made with lots of love.
Worth a visit, and not only for vegans.
