In Denmark there is a whole institution with old-school bars. It’s the places that don’t give a f*** about the smoking rules, about design or about brand. It is all about the regulars and feeling comfortable when you’re there. If you can’t be yourself, you don’t belong. These places have people showing up at 10:00 to have their morning beer and say hi to the crowd, who they know so well. A lot of these places are a little family of their own.
They’re called Bodegas – and you know them.
Normally you could feel a bit out of place when you are new here, but Lumskebuksen excel in welcoming new crowds without alienating their regulars. This is probably because it lies 20 meters from one of the big faculties of Copenhagen University and students go hunting for cheap beer around Thursday/Friday afternoon.
The colored lights make you feel just as welcome as the bartender inside.
