Alla Sosta dei Papi isn't just a bar or a wine shop—it's much more than that. Whilst they do offer local wines in both bottles and by the bulk, and boast a fine selection of Tuscan products ranging from cheeses to balsamic vinegar, Alla Sosta dei Papi has an additional charm.
It's the kind of place you frequent for a weekly aperitivo, drawn in by its relaxed atmosphere, convenient nearby parking, proximity to the city centre, and that quintessential Florentine vibe. Here, you don't need much more than a glass of wine, a few bruschetta, and some good laughs to have a great time. If you feel like indulging, they also serve platters with a delectable assortment of cold cuts and cheeses. Wednesdays and Saturdays are dedicated to "coccoli night," where you can savour fried dough served with prosciutto and stracchino!
Spending time at Alla Sosta dei Papi is always a pleasure. The owners make you feel warmly welcomed, and if you're fortunate enough to find a seat at one of the outdoor tables, you'll be captivated by the vibrant energy of the neighbourhood. I can happily spend hours perched on a stool, listening to the conversations, laughter, and occasional dancing happening around me.
