Wir Komplizen Frankfurt
Craft beer and good food
During my last walk around my neighborhood I discovered this well hidden backyard bar and restaurant.
"Wir Komplizen" is a cosy place with a huge selection of craft beers from all around the world with a focus on German / European beer, or so it seems. Around 10 types of beer come directly from the tap and 15 more sorts are bottled. Some are even flavored with rye tea, which I didn't even know was possible.
So if you are a beer lover, check out their Facebook page -- they organize many events in combination with beer tastings: beer & cake, beer & BBQ or their own Hoffest (backyard party). At these events you'll learn more about which beer is a good fit for a New York cheesecake and which one is better for a strawberry cake and of course which meat goes with a certain beer.
It's definitely a fun place, far away from tourist places and frequented mostly by neighbors.
The food is a combination of organic and vegetarian/vegan plates combined with local meat dishes, all very convincing. The ingredients are from a local bakery and other small shops and of course everything is organic...
One big drawback is the "cash only" mentality: welcome to Germany...
