Jardin de Penthes is that place that rarely gets noticed. It helps that it is hidden in the Pregny district of Geneva, carefully guarded by a hedge.
Situated close to the American Mission campus, this garden/park is suitable for those seeking some quiet after a long day. The garden is a private property that is open to the public. It surrounds the Swiss Military museum and offers lovely views of the lake. The garden consists of a massive meadow, two benches, sprawling lawns, and tall trees that offer plenty of shade.
The meadows have long, winding walking paths providing endless possibilities to explore and embark on an adventure walk. You never know where you will end up in either direction, wink wink. (Clue: It ends at the shores of the lake via the Jardin Botanique, on one side). So, feel free to plan a long, relaxing walk along a path covered with trees and greenery.
Jardin de Penthes is one of my favourite places in the whole city because I see it as a spot to debrief and get a well-deserved mental health break. Life can get competitive and overwhelming in a city like Geneva, and what better place to unwind, right?
