A Genevan legacy since 1818, Martel is that place where locals go to enjoy their kaffee und kuchen (the Swiss-French equivalent of that, I mean).
With a few branches sprinkled across Geneva, Martel is known for its sweet and savoury pastries, chocolates, and hot chocolate. I visit their outlets near the main train station and on Rue de la Croix-d'or regularly, and my recommendations to anybody that asks are the chocolate oranges (juicy candied oranges dipped in dark chocolate), and the tomato mozzarella salad. Their sandwiches are excellent, and so is their homemade hot chocolate. All in, this is a pick that you will not regret.
If you find yourself peckish on a Sunday morning after exploring Geneva's old town, and are annoyed to realise the city is a ghost town on Sunday mornings, head straight to Martel. You won't be disappointed.
