I met Sour and Sweet just before these surreal coronavirus days, it was like finding and oasis in the desert. Because nowadays it’s getting harder to find such an original tastes. They’re two white-collar ex-employees who have a  great interest in bread who opened this place. They’re making US-style sourdough products rather than European style. They have delicious breads, croissants, Turkish bagel (simit) and other bakery products. It takes almost 18 hours to prepare a Turkish bagle (simit) which is quiet significant effort 🙂

It’s located just near Baghdat Street on the Asian Side of Istanbul which is famous for its shopping trends. They have a small inner place but the taste of the products make up for it. On the menu, there is also a great Turkish breakfast option that includes high-quality local products, homemade jams and great pastries.

Here are some of my favorites from Sour and Sweet; rye bread, lemon pie, pumpkin cheesecake and the great croissant. Before chilling at the Caddebostan seaside, S&S is a great option to fill my stomach. Enjoy!
