This place is known by every Luxembourger - you will not find anything more central!
Until 2019, the building hosted a shop called "Tapis Hertz", a family business where Luxembourgers traditionally bought their bath towels, carpets or curtains. After they moved to a new place, the building was transformed into a bar and soon thereafter became Hertz Pop Up!, a trendy bar with lush decor, green plants hanging from the ceiling, a huge fresco on the wall, and beautiful original artworks. It quickly became the new hotspot in the city, located on the main shopping street Grand Rue.
In the beginning, the idea was to run a pop-up bar, only on a temporary basis, but due to its success, the bar will stay long-term.
I love the vivid, cozy atmosphere, where tourists meet locals and together listen to music by local DJs on Thursday or Friday after work.
In the morning, Pop-up Hertz offers a yummy breakfast menu and a delicious brunch on Sundays. I love the avocado toast with hummus and goat cheese. If you prefer something more special, try the delicious truffle croque monsieur or a Luxembourgish specialty "Gromperenkichelchen" (fried potato pancakes) with eggs benedict. During lunchtime, you should try their beef tartar with Gromperekichelcher or the coco curry soup with prawn ravioli. When I go there with friends, we often take some of the plates to share.
They offer a large choice of drinks with special cocktails, Luxembourgish wines, crémant and even Luxembourgish cider "Ramborn".
