God forbid I go a day without my café con leche. I was on my way to the marvelous Lázaro Galdiano museum when I was pulled to the lovely patio at Naked & Sated. My intention was just to stop for a quick coffee and move along, but with one look at the menu, all of a sudden, I felt a little peckish.

Fresh, seasonal, and healthy is the focus of the food here, and the folks at Naked & Sated believe that what we eat should not be full of fats, additives, and sugar. With a menu of everything from waffles and toasts topped with nutritious ingredients like hummus, avocado, and homemade sauces, to quinoa-based pizzas and burgers in unrefined flour buns, you won’t feel ashamed or guilty eating here.

I was there for the brunch menu and couldn’t resist trying the Iberian cured ham galette – a buckwheat crepe filled with tangy tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, arugula, and Iberian ham, topped with Grana Padano cheese, more ham, and savoury almond pesto. The ingredients went together perfectly and every bite was delicious. I didn’t want it to end.

I don’t always make the smartest food choices when I eat out, but at Naked & Sated, they’ve proven that healthy food does not have to sacrifice taste or your budget. Typically, I find myself craving a big old hamburger and fries, but these days, I just kind of always want my ham galette.
