Giesing is not one of the most popular quarters in Munich. Fortunately it is that way. People living there enjoy the familiar and authentic atmosphere. It's the hometown of the football club 1860 München and the fans have a high loyalty to their club. Most of them live in Giesing. It's blue colored (blue is the color of the club). Be careful not to mix it up with red, it's the color of FC Bayern München.
Ok, that's the background of the area, but let's come to Inge Ladencafé. I found this cosy and small café by accident. I had time before a business appointment and I followed the interesting smell of spices and ginger.
I had a really warm welcome. Maike invited me to have a drink of Inge. Inge is a home-made ginger syrup, which is cooked in their kitchen in the next room. I loved the taste from the beginning. Now I'm a big fan of Inge and Giesing and of the Café and their coffee of course.
My conclusion: find the real Munich and enjoy the taste of ginger.
