Each season on Mondays at 7:30 PM, Music Mondays offers nine free chamber music concerts in the sanctuary of the Advent Lutheran Church at 2504 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
They also present a program of free concerts called G Music Middays on Tuesdays at noon. All programs include both classic and contemporary chamber music.
Now in its 21st season, Music Mondays regularly attracts full houses because, as Artistic Director Aaron Wunsch says, “We believe this music is for absolutely anyone and everyone—it uplifts us and brings us together, as a community”.
Concerts are free and last about an hour. Donations are accepted.
The church is on the SW corner of Broadway and 93rd Street. The nearest subway station is at 96th and Broadway (1, 2, 3 Trains). See musicmondays.org for more details.
Because New York is a magnet for young musicians, these kinds of concerts are usually an opportunity to hear excellent performances and interpretations of the music they long to play and upon which they hope to form their careers.
