Ever had a meal so amazing that you dream about eating it over and over again? This happened to me at Basta Pasta, a Japanese-Italian fusion pasta place by Union Square. The restaurant originally opened in Tokyo in 1985, and was followed by the New York location five years later.

While their Spaghetti con Prosciutto e Parmigiano (which is served inside a giant Parmesan cheese wheel) is fairly popular, I only have two words for you: uni (sea urchin) pasta. I wish I could eat that everyday. The linguine is tossed with a pink basil sauce and topped with fresh sea urchin, creating a wonderfully decadent combination of flavors and textures.

Basta Pasta has different portion sizes you can choose from, and all their dishes are reasonably priced. Unfortunately, they don’t take reservations but if you go early, you should not have to wait too long. I would do anything for another bite of that uni pasta, and I highly recommend you do the same.
