It is the eternal debate: who serves the best pizza in New York City? Pizzerias across the five boroughs compete for the title. To me, there is no competition: Goodfella's pizzeria serves the best pies in New York City, and they have the awards to prove it! They are the proud winners of "World's Best Pizza" at the International Pizza Expo, and America’s Best Pizza for their Pizza Alla Vodka. But I think the truest testament to their success is all the many delicious dinners I have shared here with my family!
So what makes Goodfella's so great? They say their secret is high quality ingredients and their wood-fired brick oven. What I love is their inventive ingredients on their specialty pies. My favorite is their award-winning "Pizza Alla Vodka," which is topped with homemade vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, mushrooms, and peas. It cleverly uses all the classic ingredients of a penne alla vodka dish, but served on a pizza! When I'm having dinner here with my family, we usually split a large pie. If we can't agree on a topping, we can get half Pizza Alla Vodka, and half topped with the Smokin' Goodfella, which is another of their award-winning pizzas.
Goodfella's has two pizzerias on Staten Island. Their original location is on Hylan Boulevard, where you'll see their trophies proudly displayed, as well as photos of famous patrons adorning the walls. New York Mayors Bill Di Blasio, Mike Bloomberg, and Rudy Giulliani are all fans!
