SeaGlass Carousel New York

Affordable fun

Victoria from New York

About me I am from Seattle originally, although I have been lucky to call New York City my home since 2016. I have always dreamed of living in NYC, and moved here after graduating from college for work. ""SeaGlass Carousel" in Battery Park, New York City, is a magnificent aquarium-themed carousel. It makes me feel as if I'm in Disneyland -- and only for $5!"

While New York is known for being an expensive city, there are surprisingly many free and affordable things to do. One such attraction is the SeaGlass Carousel, located in Battery Park in the southern most tip of Manhattan.

Unleash your inner kid riding around this aquarium-themed carousel, filled with magnificent fish carriages that move to a beautiful immersion of light and music. The combination of the different colors and movements create a truly mesmerizing and enchanting experience, making you feel as if you had been whisked off of Manhattan and onto a ride at Disneyland.

Go at night to get a full experience of the lights and sounds. Tickets are only $5, which is almost unheard of in Manhattan. This place is also a perfect photo-op with the colorful fish carriages and lights.

While I had seen photos of the carousel before visiting, the pictures don't do it justice. The full experience requires an in-person visit, whether or not you have kids or are into this kind of stuff.

I have always dreamed of living in NYC, and moved here after graduating from college for work. I moved around a lot when I was younger due to my dad's job, and had the opportunity to study abroad in Paris during my junior year of college. Both of these occurrences contributed to my love of traveling today, and made me comfortable in vulnerable situations. I make traveling a priority in my life, and have been to 20 countries and counting. Eating and trying ...
