While New York is known for being an expensive city, there are surprisingly many free and affordable things to do. One such attraction is the SeaGlass Carousel, located in Battery Park in the southern most tip of Manhattan.
Unleash your inner kid riding around this aquarium-themed carousel, filled with magnificent fish carriages that move to a beautiful immersion of light and music. The combination of the different colors and movements create a truly mesmerizing and enchanting experience, making you feel as if you had been whisked off of Manhattan and onto a ride at Disneyland.
Go at night to get a full experience of the lights and sounds. Tickets are only $5, which is almost unheard of in Manhattan. This place is also a perfect photo-op with the colorful fish carriages and lights.
While I had seen photos of the carousel before visiting, the pictures don’t do it justice. The full experience requires an in-person visit, whether or not you have kids or are into this kind of stuff.
