Isdammen (Ice pond) is a little lake at Årvoll in Oslo. You can also describe it as a neighborhood lake, because of its close proximity to the inhabited area. Beautiful in all four seasons it serves as a meeting place in the area on all occasions, be it your morning or evening walk, weekend out with your kids and friends, birthday - school - or kindergarten party, meeting with your colleagues, etc.
Isdammen is known as a fishing lake in the summer months, but one can also go ice skating there during the winter (as the lakes in Oslo are usually frozen because of the low temperatures, as one would expect). And of course, you can always go on a picnic there and grill on a campfire at specially designated areas. Isdammen is especially family-friendly, with a climbing frame and swings made of wood right next to the lake and the campfire place. We have had some of the best parties as a family there, as well as short day excursions. Recommended without a second thought!
