La Belle Hortense is an atypical bar, because it is also a bookshop. This tiny space within Le Marais displays classics and some novelties in poetry and novels. It's a really good place to buy a book, but also a nice bar to choose among the different wines they select. If you feel intellectual and cultivated, this is your place. If you are wine lover, this is your place. If you like a calm and bohemian atmosphere to drink a coffee or tea, or a nice glass of wine, this is your place.
But La Belle Hortense is also a wine shop where you can buy a nice bottle to bring home or for a party you are invited to. As such, it collects all the quintessential elements of the French easy way of living -- nice conversations, culture, wine and even nice dishes, as the place also offers a nice kitchen with the dish of the day or the famous Tarte Tatin which is finger-licking good!!
Further than that, they organize a cultural exhibition every month. Follow them on the web or Facebook.
