Located on a former SNCF train station in Pantin, not far from the Canal de l'Ourcq, La Cité Fertile is an eco-responsible third place, dedicated to the challenges of the ecological transition in the city.
The project, launched in 2018 before the construction of the eco-district, is a big ensemble that houses many different activities: DJ sets, exhibitions, screenings, masterclasses, roundtables, markets, yoga classes... Basically, something for everyone! They also have a caffè, and I especially recommend going during the weekend, when they do delicious vegetarian and vegan brunches for 25€.
The programming of the space changes monthly, and you can definitely feel the switch from one season to another. During the spring/summer, they often host DJ sets and outdoor activities where you get to enjoy the sun and a cold beer in their amazing eco-garden. During the winter, the outdoor bars close, but you get to cuddle inside the caffè and enjoy a nice warm drink. They also continue to host events during the winter, such as the Christmas market and other activities in their indoor hangar.
What I mostly like about La Cité Fertile, is that you get to leave the city and explore the Parisian périphérique. Pantin, the town where it's located, is really worth the stroll, and you can actually get there on foot from La Villette, walking along the Canal de l'Ourcq (I recommend doing so during the spring/summer).
