For all my Jazz lovers, you absolutely must visit La Gare Le Gore, an ultra-unusual spot in the heart of the La Villette district. Housed, as its name suggests, in a former train station right in front of the metro Corentin Cariou, it welcomes all lovers of the musical style every day to come and swing within its walls.
Every night, from 21 to midnight, you'll find a new concert to your liking. The program changes every month, but the musicians who are invited to play usually perform at least once a week during that whole period. Most of their concerts are free, but of course, a donation is always well appreciated (and deserved). It's not at all your classical jazz tavern, both for the set and bands that come to play that are very contemporary and like to play around with the genre, and because of the space.
I really enjoy going there because it combines underground, live music and a nice place to hang with the two outdoor spaces (don't miss the hotdog van at the entrance). One thing to remember is that there's a strict "NO TALKING" policy during the concert.
If this didn't already sound too good to be true, after midnight La Gare become Le Gore, meaning that the party continues in the basement downstairs, this time with dj sets and a bigger dance floor. That also changes every day (but mostly electronic and techno). You can check out the whole program on their insta!
