The marché de Boulevard de Belleville is a local farmers' market that happens every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. It goes all the way from the metro stops Belleville to Ménilmontant (so quite long), and it's your classic fruit and vegetables market, with a little plus. Besides being very cheap in respect to other farmers' markets in the city (if not the cheapest), it also has some amazing North-African culinary staples.
For example, you will find a few stands with amazing olives, dates, chapatis, spices, etc... You will of course also find meat and fish stands amongst all the fruit and vegetables. If you feel like having a nice lunch or dinner at home, I highly recommend stocking up here rather than grocery shopping at the store. Another expert's tip, the market finishes at 14, so if you go towards 13, they start selling the leftovers at 1€/kilo, so it's the perfect moment to go.
I particularly enjoy this farmers' market because it's the most fun and chaotic one I've been to in Paris, and you can tell it's full of locals. It's always packed with senior citizens, especially cute Middle Eastern grandmas with their babouchkas, who stray along their shopping trollies. Don't be fooled, though; they will run over you for a kilo of veggies. All in all, the experience is fun, hectic, and you will definitely feel like a local.
