Parc Monceau is the most romantic park in Paris. It is not very big, but it has very nice spots inside with a lake, paths that go along the big trees, statues and a row of columns among the flowers. It is often described as an English garden, and really it is somehow different from the traditional Parisian gardens. When you are in it, you feel the time passing slowly and the beauty of the place fills your heart. I find it appropriate for very different moods, but in any case, it's a great place to visit in couples or with friends. There is a small bar where you can have snacks, and some children attractions, like a merry-go-round.
For fans of taking pictures in nice spots, this is definitely one of the best green areas for that activity. It is also a nice place for jogging -- it's in the center of the city, but sufficiently distant from the traffic because of its structure. Definitely a nice place to visit or to spend an afternoon having a picnic on the grass.
