Ett Hem means ”a home” in Swedish and it houses a unique hotel and a restaurant which both have a very private (although luxurious) feel. It is located in Lärkstaden,  Östermalm. Being a resident of Stockholm, I haven't tried the hotel, but the restaurant isn't like any other restaurant I have ever eaten at. The restaurant is located in a townhouse and you really feel like you are visiting someone's (upper class) home. One can decide if one wants to have dinner in the kitchen, the library or the living room. The rooms are decorated with books, comfy furniture and there are board games.

There is no set menu and it isn't possible to choose between different options. Instead, you tell the staff in advance if you have any allergies or follow any diet and they will source the best ingredients they can get their hands on that day and create magic with it. They will serve a five-course meal and pair it with fitting wines. The prices aren't low, but for all that one gets it really is a bargain. It is the perfect setting for a special day or to spoil the one you love.

The renowned music producer Max Martin has bought the two adjacent adresses and will cooperate with the hotel Ett hem to create a "music house" for international artists.

You can get there by subway, 10 minutes by the red line from the Central Station to Tekniska Högskolan in the direction of Mörby Centrum.
