Shang Shi delivers a fine dining experience right in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town. Situated next to the well-known local favourite Kompressor, Shang Shi offers a distinctive contrast to its more casual surroundings.
The lobby area is comfy with a bar, where you can enjoy a drink while waiting for your friends or family.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was an elegant balance of flavors and textures, clearly crafted with top-notch ingredients.
The Dim Sum assortment at Shang Shi is a true highlight of the menu, offering a perfect balance of artistry and flavor. Each bite is a reflection of masterful craftsmanship. To enhance the experience, they also provide an explanation card that details each dim sum’s ingredients, ensuring you fully appreciate the unique flavors without feeling overwhelmed by the variety. It’s a thoughtful touch that adds to the enjoyment.
If you have pre-ordered the Peking duck, they will present and carve the Peking duck tableside. It adds a personal and engaging element to the dining experience. Watching the chef skillfully slice the crispy duck right in front of you enhances the appreciation of the dish.
In short, Shang Shi exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the attentive service to the exquisite food and inviting atmosphere, it’s a dining experience I’ll happily return to and recommend to anyone seeking a touch of elegance in the heart of Tallinn.
