It's probably not obvious after visiting local pubs in Tallinn with mostly Saku and A. Le Coq products on tap that Estonia actually does have a nice tradition of producing really good craft beer. There is a whole bunch of smaller breweries around (sometimes it's just a single man!) who are able to create very interesting and original stuff.
The biggest problem for those willing to taste something different is that craft beers are usually not available on the mass market. Well, if you know the right spots, of course there are some bars with a nice selection. But I suppose that none of them compares with Sip wine and beer shop - with the best selection of light alcoholic drinks in Estonia, those guys are my heroes! Not only do they sell all sorts of crafted local beer but they have a truly encyclopedic selection of the best custom brews from around the world.
By the way, if you are not sure what souvenirs you should bring back from Estonia, it makes sense to choose something from Sip. My friends usually do!
