In Israel, you can find Jews from Morocco and Russia, Ethiopia and Belgium, and basically from all over the globe. One of the most interesting things in such a multicultural society is the mix of tastes, colors, and cultural differences.
One of the oldest Jewish communities is the Yemenite Jews community. If you want to enjoy Yemenite Jewish food, music, and atmosphere - you'd better come and visit Saluf and Sons. The Jewish-Yemenite food is well known for its pastries, soups, and spicy pastes.
Located in the Levinsky area, Saluf & Sons will offer you an authentic Yemenite Jews experience.
I went there on a Friday at noon; the place was packed with people, the music was loud, and the place was very festive. We ordered beers and some food. We tried the Malawach - a Yemenite pancake with tomato salsa, egg, and Tahini, one Hummus plate, and the Mashawia meat stew with couscous, which was fantastic.
The food was very fresh and spicy, and the Yemenite music also helped to spice up the atmosphere.
If you are looking for an authentic and fun place, I highly recommend visiting Saluf & Sons.
