The north beach stripe Tel Aviv
Peace and quiet
The beach strip in Tel Aviv is so packed with tourists that I always find myself wondering if it's possible that it was the main reason behind their decision to come to Tel Aviv. The strip is popular among locals too, so obviously it gets crowded easily, especially on the weekends.
As much as it is fun to hang around with everyone, sometimes I just want to have the whole beach for myself. In those times I go to the north stripe, where you'd frankly be scandalized by the paucity of people.
The north stripe starts right after the port and after 10 minutes of walking (or 2 minutes with bicycle) you'll get to the desired beaches.
The beaches are informal ones, without lifeguards or any facilities. I prefer it that way, since it helps you forget the fact that you are in the middle of a city. Of course, that means that you should prepare yourself for it. Bring water, protect yourself from the sun and don't swim too far from the beach.
