Fort aan de Klop Utrecht
Outdoor terrace on an island
From the Oudegracht downtown Utrecht, cycle for only 15 minutes along the Vecht and you will reach a very small fort Island, as part of the Hollandse Waterlinie, 'Fort aan de Klop'.
From March to October, the entire island is a terrace. Either you have a coffee or tea, or it's time for some wine or beer; this is the spot when the weather is sunny. Hungry? Get a pizza or some fries from the food trucks. During the summer season, there are several organised activities. On Fridays, there's a DJ from 17:00 to celebrate the start of the weekend.
Nice sidenote; the Camino Santiago passes Fort aan de Klop. Is Santiago de Compostela just a little too far? There's a very nice hike to 'Slot Zuylen'.
