Towarzyska (Polish for “sociable”) was opened in March 2012 with some great concerts to start off with. Based on a kind of socialist pavilion, Towarzyska hosts concerts, film screenings, for example by Andrzej Wajda, Wojciech Has or Milos Forman, and creative actions. Above all, it hosts friendly people and smiling faces.
Towarzyska is a bit more “interactive” than other cafes – if you want to watch photos / film-slides from your holidays there, just let them know and the room downstairs will be at your disposal. What I love about this place is this “neighbourly” touch – if you live around the corner, you will feel at home and will want to come over (in fact if you live far away, you will also want to come).
Check their FB fan page to see the poster archive plus current concerts. You might also find their evenings of “very bad films” interesting – a rare occasion to watch & talk over some really painful examples of world cinema.
Check their cold-brew bottled coffee and tempting desserts.
