Doughnuts are my all time favorite food for satisfying a sweet tooth. Luckily, Washington DC has plenty of local doughnut shops to help me satisfy a craving. One of my favorite shops is District Doughnuts. The menu is limited to a few doughnut choices, coffee, and tea so you can tell their focus is on making the perfect doughnut before you have even tried one.
The menu rotates so you’ll always be able to find a taste of the season. My favorite doughnut that is usually on the menu is the brown butter. It’s the right amount of cinnamon sugar sweetness with a little vanilla icing on top. For spring, don't miss out some of their berry flavors like blackberry and the Cherry Blossom doughnut filled with cherry pie.
Another nice feature of District Doughnuts is the doughnuts are priced individually and are a little on the small size. I can order a few different flavors without feeling overly stuffed. Plus, I don’t have to worry about ordering a dozen and not being able to finish them.
Find these delicious donuts at two locations: Barracks Row and Georgetown.
