Woodley Park has some of the best hidden gem happy hour spots in the city. Many folks tend to visit the nearby National Zoo or the lively watering holes in Adams Morgan. However, not to be overlooked, Woodley Park offers a polished personality of its own with lots of great restaurants and bars. And one of my favorite spots for happy hour bites and drinks in Woodley is District Kitchen.
District Kitchen offers a full dinner menu but I prefer to take advantage of their excellent happy hour at the bar. They have several $4 beer and $5 wine options but my favorites are the $6 Moscow Mule and Old Fashioned. You can order a full dinner at the bar but I prefer to split a couple of small plates with a friend. My go-tos are the mozzarella and saffron arancinis (which are like little cheese sticks) and the roasted brussels sprouts cooked in vanilla maple syrup.
District Kitchen is open 7 days a week and runs happy hour from 17:00 to 19:00 Monday to Friday and 22:00 to 23:00 on Friday and Saturday.
