Urban escape on busy U street
The bustling U Street is the perfect spot for both tourists and locals to enjoy a wide range of food, music, and people watching. Even after the pandemic, U Street is still full of restaurants but one of my favorites is Lulu's Wine Garden.
Lulu's Wine Garden opened at the very beginning of the pandemic. They quickly adjusted to serve customers safety outside with not one, but three lovely outdoor spaces decorated with fancy heaters and plants.
Enjoy wine and casual food in the street lounge, patio, or my favorite - the back patio. Indoor dining is also available. Reservations are highly recommended and you can choose your seat location.
As the name suggests, Lulu's offers an excellent wine selection but be sure to try one of their cocktails. The menu rotates seasonally with hot drinks in the winter and vacation-inspired cocktails in the summer.
Lulu's offers a small food menu with casual options but you won't leave hungry. Don't miss their unforgettable whipped feta dip and oversized fried chicken sandwich. The wine garden is also a great spot for brunch on Saturday and Sunday with breakfast sandwiches and pancakes.
