Columbia Heights is home to some of my favorite places to grab a drink after work. The neighborhood isn’t as popular as U Street, Adams Morgan, and Dupont so the watering holes have a unique, eclectic feel. The one thing that goes best with a few rounds of drinks is late-night breakfast and Columbia Heights is home to one of the best spots: The Coupe.
The all-day breakfast menu includes all the classics like two egg breakfast, scrambles, pancakes, and French toast. There’s nothing too fancy on this menu, just breakfast done well. I’m typically a big fan of egg inspired meals but late night bites are the perfect excuse to split something sweet with a friend. Sometimes it feels more like a late night dessert run than a dinner stop. Pancakes with either chocolate chips or bananas are my go to sweet treat at The Coupe.
The Coupe also offers happy hour Monday through Friday from 17:00 to 19:00. They have similar sister restaurants in Adams Morgan (The Diner) and Woodley Park (Open City).
