Before actually living in Zürich, I came here several times for a day trip to visit flatshares. I usually also took the time to discover the city and the neighborhood of the flat I just visited. On one of these occasions, I popped into a thrift shop, the Chemiserie+. Being adept at second-hand stores, I remember being quite happy to have found such a cool small thrift store with reasonable prices. However, when I moved to Zürich for good, I never managed to find the place again as I didn’t save the name anywhere. Until recently! During a walk in the neighborhood of Wiedikon, I spotted this small shop with a vintage look. When I entered, I finally found the store I was looking for more than a year!
So Chemiserie+ is a thrift shop where you can bring in clothes that they buy if they think they are suitable for the shop and are of good quality. You can either receive money or a voucher to spend in the shop itself in exchange. This leads to an assortment of good quality clothes for a wide range of tastes. The store in Zürich is relatively small but I still always find cool pieces. I find the store quite affordable compared to other Zürich second-hand stores. On their website, I saw that there also exists a store in Basel! So let slow fashion be!
