The rather small street “Weidenallee” is perfect for an afternoon stroll. It is one of my favorite streets. It is close to the Schanzenviertel, but is much more relaxed. One could say it is a grown-up street compared to the adolescent walks in the Schanze. There are fewer people, almost no tourists, the restaurants are nice and the shopping is great.

Fir example, this not-so-small but awesome shop. The WEIDE used to be named PERLE. The owners split up, one took the name and moved to the Neustadt (check the Perle store article) and the other stayed and was renamed. WEIDE added stylish plants, flowers and pots to its already wide selection of… everything. It has remained one of those shops in which you could spend hours browsing. You will always find something curious, some unique items that you have never seen before. Also, this is the best spot for some last-minute present shopping.

It is mainly interior design objects – wallpapers, hand-made lampshades, pillows, scented candles, glasses and just extraordinary stuff that you’d like to keep for the rest of your life. It is also everybody’s favorite place to shop for presents.

If you manage to ever get out of there, take your shopping bags and your favorite new items out for a coffee at the ‘Juwelier’ or stroll further down the street. If you take a left at the end (into Bellealliancestrasse), you are up for more niceness. This is a cozy neighborhood.
