Once you’ve gone down the creaky stairs of Kina Li, and are met by a jumble of plastic flowers, stickers, soy bowls and various knick-knacks on countless shelves – the outside world is soon forgotten. You’ve ended up in a timeless basement full of things you didn’t know you needed, until now.
Kina Li is located at one of the busiest streets on Södermalm and is the largest importer of Asian products and groceries in Sweden. On the outside it looks like a forlorn tobacco shop or some sort of fallen wholesale, and I guess that’s why it gets overlooked by most passersby and stays uncrowded.
I find Kina Li unique due to its timeless assortment as well as atmosphere and beautiful mess. This store is as good for groceries shopping, birthday present hunting, as well as broadening your interior and cultural horizons. You could easily botanize in here forever, unable to stop poking on all the cute thing in even cuter packaging.
