A few years ago, most clubs were located in Frankfurt’s east end. Luckily, the scene has moved back into the city, and one location with an authentic club character -not too big and equipped with a long bar- is the Kane & Abel.
Although its address is on the renowned luxurious shopping street “Goethestraße”, the entrance is on the tiny side street “Luginsland”.
The club opens on Fridays and Saturdays, and before holidays. Both their homepage and Facebook page promote all dates and events.
Kane & Abel hosts several popular club night concepts as the “Saints & Sinners” or the “Black Roséy” nights, but also has its own line-ups. Its music genre is mainly hip-hop/R’n’B, whereas some nights include both house and hip-hop DJs.
The crowd is an interesting mix of people, girls in sexy dresses meet guys in suits, but also some dressed in black denim, wearing sneakers and covered in tattoos. As long as you don’t show up too casual, you shouldn’t have trouble getting in.
Kane & Abel becomes crowded after 01:00, so don’t wonder why it’s still empty when arriving earlier.
Once stepping down the stairs into the club itself, you’ll directly stand on the dance floor. The ceiling is quite low, which I think adds to the club’s atmosphere. The bar stretches along the whole length of the club, and in the back you’ll find several lounge corners (often pre-booked by groups). I have spent several nights there until dawn, so you’d better have a good dinner in advance.
