I discovered “Laden 100″ when strolling through the city with one of my friends and was immediately drawn to it since the nicely decorated shop window didn’t really fit the old lettering above it saying “Metzgerei” – which is butchery in English. This startled me, but of course this old lettering is a relic telling you what “Laden 100″ once used to be. Now it is a stylish upcycling shop with the integrated record store “Memphis Records” selling records from the 50s to the 70s.
The interior design alone is worth a visit since it combines new – or rather remade – items with the remnants of the former shop like pretty old tiles. For me this is the perfect setting for the products sold in “Laden 100″: homemade occasional tables, lovely postcards, selected (illustrated) books, old vases, paintings and so much more. Actually, you never really know what this place holds for you – so be taken by surprise and have fun discovering Laden 100.
